Equipment, safety & control
Your introduction to kiteboarding starts with understanding the spot, environment, and conditions for a safe session.
Day one
You’ll learn how to hold, carry, and secure your kite on land before setting up your full kite system step by step. Next, you’ll do pre-flight checks and practice the safety systems, including inflight quick-release activation. With your kite ready, you’ll start piloting — launching, landing, and exploring the edges of the wind window. You’ll also build confidence with hands-on skills, like twisting and untwisting lines, flying one-handed, and practicing trim. By the end of the session, you’ll be fully prepared to handle your kite safely and independently.
Intuitive control & body drag
Your second lesson focuses on developing smooth, intuitive control.
Day two
You’ll practice launching and landing as a pilot, walking while flying the kite, and understanding wind window theory in practice. Once comfortable on land, you’ll move into the water to combine your new skills — entering and exiting the water while controlling the kite, performing a water relaunch, and learning stable body dragging with two hands. You’ll finish the day with your first power strokes in the water, feeling the kite’s pull and building the foundation for riding with a board in your next course. Before wrapping up, you’ll learn how to safely pack your equipment and leave the spot as you found it.
